Minor Miracles

Sometimes I find myself forgetting who I am and from where I come. I guess everyone does this to an extent. We get busy. Life happens. Scriptures go unread. Prayers shift from a time of reflection and focus to a rote recitation of thanks and needs. Or they may even cease. And life gets busier. And He seems so far away.

Then one day you find yourself running late. The kids need their shoes, but you can’t find them. School will start soon. You have torn the entire house apart. Searching. But never finding. Frustrated, you say a small prayer in your mind. He hears. He reminds you that the kids played in the back yard. You walk back and find the shoes. A minor miracle. You are able to send the kids on their way without their being late.

Surely, I am not the only person who has experienced one of these minor miracles. But for some reason, this morning’s events really hit me. He heard me. Me. Even when I have neglected Him, He still cares. There are starving people in Africa. Wars are raging. Genocides. Disease. Natural Disasters. An Obama presidency You name it- it is happening. But amid the chaos, my child’s lost shoes warranted a response. Wow! God is good.

If you have a minor miracle, please share.
