It's official!

I'm going back to work! I signed my tentative contract last week, took my pre-employment physical on Monday, and passed my TB skin text Wednesday (phew...I was worried about that one! hahaha!). My anticipated start date is mid-July and I am SO excited!!!

I interviewed for a couple positions with the company, but ended up being offered a position at their analytical chemistry lab as a lab technician. During my interviews, I was able to tour their research labs and their analytical labs- "WOW!" is all I can say. Their instrumentation is A-FREAKIN-MAZING!!! I was in nerd heaven the entire time, and didn't want the tours to end! I kept thinking, "Are you serious? They really want me to work here? Wow!! I'm gonna get to touch these machines!!! And they're gonna give me a lab coat...with my name on it?!? Woohoo!!"

After being a stay-at-home mom for the past 9ish years, I was honored to even be chosen to interview...much less be offered an actual, real-live, paying J-O-B! The schedule is PERFECT for me- 12 hour rotating shifts (5 on, 5 off, 4 on, 4 off, wash, rinse, repeat). My supervisor seems really cool. The company is AWESOME- very stable, LOTS of potential for advancement, and even opportunities to eventually work abroad.

The best part is, I will be doing work directly related to my undergrad degree. Oh, I can't wait to get back into the lab again!
