Gotcha!!

Ok...this might be one of those "you just had to be there" moments, but we'll see :o)

Tonight I made a crock pot chicken veggie and rice soup for dinner. It didn't go over too well with the kids, so they were whining and griping about it. Our family rule is we eat what Mommy cooks- I am NOT a short order cook. I refuse to cook a meal only to make 6 peanut butter and honey sandwiches 5 minutes later. The kids know that, and if they don't like what I cook, missing one meal won't kill them (or at least I hope not!!). John started telling them stories about people he met and the foods they had to eat. He told Cam that he knew a guy who had to eat chicken rice and vegetables to get big cannons. Cam got all excited and started eating. Collin is into magic tricks, so John told him he knew a guy that suggested eating rice and veggies to improve his magic skills. Then he started Caitlyn's story...

He told her that one day he went to this place and saw a girl dancing. Caitlyn asked what her name was, so I answered "Desire". John wasn't really paying close attention, so he absentmindedly repeated after me, "Yeah, the dancer girl was named 'Desire' and she was an awesome dancer!" Cam and Cait repeated him "Desire?!", and John caught on that he'd been tricked!

We both had a good laugh about that one :o)
